The small change Top 10 DAILY Countdown to Wellness Tips

“True Self-Care it is adopting a lifestyle that you don’t need to escape from.”

Self-Care Awareness Month is observed every September. It’s a crucial reminder that prioritizing your health by putting yourself first is not selfish.

Self-Care is about deliberately caring for your physical, mental, emotional, social, financial, occupational, and spiritual well-being so that wellness becomes a way of life, not an occasional treat. Practices can range from simple daily routines requiring only a few minutes of your time to more engaging activities that can grow into fulfilling hobbies or meaningful lifestyle changes.

Creating a simple gratitude list was a Self-Care practice I began over 30 years ago, a list that grew into therapeutic long-hand journaling. And behold, like a caterpillar that morphs into a butterfly, over time, a more serious form of writing evolved and led me to write my first book. Now, I write to teach; it’s a habit I enjoy and it helps me stay well.

This week, I want to share my small change Top 10 DAILY Countdown to Wellness Tips. They are activities that only require a few minutes of my time each day, and they anchor me when life throws me curve balls.

Adopting a Self-Care practice doesn’t have to be difficult or overwhelming; it can be as simple as ABC-123:

1) Acknowledge you want to change.

2) Believe you have the power to change.

3) Commit to doing the work to change .
